Hello!

I'm Kristine Ducote, and I am so glad you are here! Recovery, whether it is from depression, grief, trauma, or another challenge can seem overwhelming. Most of us spent a lot of time when we were children dreaming of growing up. Now we are here, and guess what?  Adulting isn't all it was cracked up to be. Juggling responsibilities while coping with past and present challenges makes it difficult to find and keep your balance. Emotional injuries and hardships are inevitable as we go through life. It is not if, but rather when, they will happen. The injuries themselves are often very difficult, and sometimes, devastating. The flip side is hardship is a necessary part of growth. What we learn from our experiences and how we choose to deal with them are what counts.

But here is the good news: you do not need to go it alone. I would love to walk alongside you for this part of your life journey and help you to navigate your challenges successfully. Living your life more in balance will help you to live life with joy, peace, and satisfaction.

My experience is mainly in human services; I have worked with troubled youth, crime victims, domestic violence victims, first responders, and those experiencing challenges and symptoms of mental illness.  I, too, have traversed the symptoms of mental illness, and have learned to cope and manage symptoms effectively; I believe that you can as well.

If you choose to work with me, you will be working with someone who "gets it". While our experiences and situations may differ, I believe we may find common ground to relate to one another. This is about your journey, but it can help to talk with someone who has had similar experiences and come out on top. I am trauma-informed and take an eclectic approach to therapeutic modalities. I often use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfullness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MB-CBT), Trauma-Focused Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). 
 

We will work together to find the best approach that is meaningful and helpful to you, and what works best with your learning style. Together, we will co-create your treatment plan and set goals that you wish to reach in therapy. We will evaluate progress frequently, and adjust your plan as needed. This helps to ensure we are working on what is important to you, and that we are taking an effective approach or finding another if we aren't making progress.
